Welcome to Victoria for CAFF Con 2026!

We are excited to welcome you back (or for the first time) to Victoria for the 2026 CAFF Conference, we hosted last in 2019. This year is our 40th anniversary at Intrepid Theatre and the Victoria Fringe – we are so happy to have you in our city and to co-host with the Vancouver Fringe team, welcome friends!

The conference will have a slightly different structure this year, beginning with a half day on Wednesday in the mid afternoon, giving travel options for folks wanting to arrive that morning. The conference will run Wednesday afternoon, with a group outing that night, followed by two full conference days on Thursday & Friday, with additional and optional events and dinners. Victoria weather in November is usually between 4 and 10 degrees Celsius and often rainy and wet. There will also be an optional day in Vancouver on Saturday with our co-hosts at the Vancouver Fringe.

We will have 2-3 hotel partners, varying in price from $140 – $200/night, and all in the downtown area. We will book conference location(s) once we have confirmed registration numbers, and plan to host the three days of events all in downtown, all within easy walking distance of hotels, conference locations, planned outings, and with lots of options for food, cocktails, water views, or craft beer nearby. Victoria doesn’t have many Airbnbs downtown, but if you are driving, you may find some a bit further that are a short drive to downtown.

Getting here: We are located on the southern tip of Vancouver Island, so getting here takes a bit of thought and planning. Here are some tips.

If you are flying: Westjet, Air Canada, Flair, Porter, Air North, and Pacific Coastal all have service to the Victoria airport, while Harbour Air and Kenmore Air have service to the harbour.

You could also fly in or out of the Vancouver airport (which is sometimes cheaper, and more options, especially if you are spending the optional day in Vancouver) and then take a Harbour Air flight from the terminal to the Victoria harbour, or you could take transit or an uber to the BC Ferry terminal and take the ferry to Victoria (Swartz Bay terminal).

You could also fly to Seattle and take a ferry or seaplane to Victoria.

If you are driving: you can drive onto a BC Ferry from Vancouver for Canadian friends, or you can drive onto the Coho Ferry in Port Angeles, Washington for American friends.

If you are arriving from Seattle: the Clipper offers fast passenger ferry service directly from Seattle to Victoria, no vehicles, just passengers.

Optional Vancouver Day

Along with the traditional conference programming in Victoria, this year we will be offering one additional day in Vancouver.

The day will include the trip from Victoria to Vancouver, a visit to the Vancouver Fringe’s home on Granville Island, dinner, and a free performance of Luminarium (TBC), which won Best of the Fest 2025 in Vancouver. There is a hotel block booking available at the Sandman Suites Davie, with a rate of $145 + tax (currently 20.68%) for the night.

Transportation costs between Victoria and Vancouver will be covered by a small additional fee estimated at $50. To determine transportation needs, please let us know if you would be interested in attending the optional day in Vancouver. A registration link and cost will be sent out after approximate interest is gauged.
