Victoria's 5 venues average 110 seats, with the smallest being 40 seats and the largest 200. About half are existing performance venues of various kinds (recital halls, theatres, studios), half are fully-outfitted theatres created in community spaces.

Previously, we have considered local Site Specific productions, where the location of the performance is integral to the content of the show (ie. a park, a classroom). This program is on hold - stay tuned for details for 2023. You can email to enquire about the program. Note: Site Specific productions are required to supply their own Front of House Manager. The annual Victoria Fringe Theatre Festival takes over Canada’s scenic Garden City in late summer for an 11-day celebration of live performance from around the world, featuring an eclectic mixture of spoken word, drama, musicals, comedy, magic, music, theatre for young audiences and more.

A small to mid-sized (approx 30 show) festival, Victoria’s Fringe is one of the oldest in Canada has a reputation for adventurous, educated audiences; an experienced, friendly and easily accessible festival team; and a local arts community that has cultivated many of Canada’s favourite Fringe performers and alternative theatre companies over the decades.

The city of Victoria is located on the territory of the Lekwungen People, now known as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations, on Vancouver Island, about 3.5 hours from Vancouver by land and car ferry (90 mins), on the West Coast of Turtle Island.
